Our committee Chair, Sharon Freeman said “ All of this has been quite time consuming but we are now pleased to report a contract for the project will be signed within the next few weeks. The demolition of the old Hall in a couple of weeks time and, all being well, the new Community Centre will be open by Spring 2015."
An important part of the new development is the children’s playground and an application of funding for this project will begin in earnest when the building project is underway. The new and enlarged playground will be on the field just behind the skatepark. The committee need the help and support of other members of the community to succeed in this next stage of the re-vitalisation of the Recreation Ground so please contact Sharon on 01594 562187 or Don Pugh on 10594 562909 if you can help. Before the demolition of the old Hall, the children’s climbing/slide equipment will have to be removed and stored until the new area is ready.
The Hall will be open this Saturday 28th June from 10am – 2pm, to sell or give away many items left in the Hall - kitchen equipment, heaters, cupboards, etc. Everything must go!
