The skatepark continues to be well used by all ages of children and teenagers but, unfortunately, it has suffered from the heavy use and the bad weather and a significant amount of money has had to be spent to keep it in use this year. You can see from the photos that it is now looking good just in time for the summer school holidays.

We were very fortunate to receive a grant of £48,274 from the Biffa Award scheme. (Biffa distributes money from the landfill taxes to good causes). We also received a grant of £2000 from the Gloucestershire Playing Fields Association and, through our own fundraising efforts and through local donations, raised a further £2000. We also received a grant of £500 from the Severn Dean Lions.

We recently received a grant of £4364 from the West Dean Parish Council to fence the playground area in order to separate it from the skatepark and ensure the safety of smaller children. We are currently purchasing seating for the area (again, through the generosity of the Parish Council).

The playground and the skatepark are enjoyed by many and are well used.
